A different way to spend this week 🌱
Some alternatives to help discount the discounts
This is a little follow-up to what I wrote last week about struggling with Black Friday, but wanting to do more than just be critical.
Some alternatives to the shopping frenzy:
Find a new wood near you - I love this interactive map by the Woodland Trust; it’s not perfect but it is a great way to discover and learn more about spots in your area
Try out the Encounter App - This guided nature journal is free and a great way to build habits around paying more attention to wildness. It was created by
Experiment with natural navigation - something I’ve loved playing with in the last few months. Learning to tell direction from trees, clouds and shadows.
You are part of building a rewilding movement 🌱
Some of us are lucky enough to have discretionary spending power. What if we used it to bring more life to our land? Research suggests every £1 spent on rewilding creates between £4 and £38 of value through biodiversity, flood prevention and carbon sequestration.
The more of us there are, the more impact we can have –creating wildness that also results in cleaner waters, healthier forests, wilder futures, and happier communities.
You can help by forwarding this email to someone who you think would find the links useful. They might like to to find a new wood near them, engage more with wildness, learn to navigate by clouds.
🟩 Or become a rewilder through Wild Mosaic
This is the movement I’m trying to build and you’re already an integral part of it. Thank you for reading my emails 🌱
Yours in wildness,
Jon
